Canadian Women & Sport is a national leader in advancing gender equity in sport. We work across sport, organizations and jurisdictions to challenge the barriers that limit opportunities for women and girls. We bring research, expertise and lived experience together to influence decisions, connect leaders and help organizations turn commitment into action. Our goal is a sport system where every woman and girl can participate, lead and thrive, on the field, in the boardroom and beyond.

A Canada where every woman and girl thrives in and through sport.

We change the sport system, so it works for women and girls. We do this through research that shifts thinking, advocacy that shifts policy, and guidance that shifts practice.

We lead with courage and curiosity, work collaboratively, champion inclusion through action, and remain determined to drive progress.

Gender equity in sport is about more than who gets to participate. It’s about the conditions that shape every experience, from policies and programs to leadership and decision-making.
We identify gaps, challenge barriers, and help create the conditions for women and girls to participate, lead, and thrive.

Gender inequity does not affect all women and girls in the same way. We are committed to understanding and addressing the intersecting barriers that shape experiences in sport.
That commitment informs how we work, from our research and programs to our partnerships, leadership, and organizational practices.

Canadian Women & Sport supports a sport system that is fair and inclusive for all women and girls, including trans women and girls.
Our position is informed by Canadian human rights, expert guidance and leading sport organizations. We continue to learn through research and dialogue to support a sport system that is safe and welcoming for everyone.
Our partners are essential to advancing our mission. By fueling programs and initiatives that remove barriers, they help open doors for women and girls to thrive in sport. Together, we’re shaping a sport system that’s more inclusive, equitable, and empowering.
