Ontario Government Invests in The Next Play and Creates Opportunities for Girls in Sport and Recreation
The Next Play program will equip 50 Ontario-based community organizations with tools and resources to engage more girls and gender-diverse youth in active recreation
Toronto, ON (Friday, March 8, 2024) – The Ontario government announced an investment of $380,000 in Canadian Women & Sport’s The Next Play program aimed at creating more opportunities for girls and gender-diverse youth to be active.
“So many organizations and communities are ready to do the work of designing sport that truly works for diverse girls. On International Women’s Day, we’re thrilled to announce this continued investment by the Ontario government which will provide new opportunities to create lasting change and inspire inclusion in our communities.”
