Gender Equity Assessments

Our Gender Equity in Sport Assessment (GESA) will help you identify areas of strength and opportunity for your organization through a collaborative approach. Drawing on extensive research on gender and diversity analysis, the assessment focuses on specific areas of your organization such as governance and leadership, recruitment, culture, measurement, programming and development.

The GESA is being developed in collaboration with the Diversity Institute and Future of Sport Lab of Ryerson University, whose researchers have extensive knowledge and experience in:

  • the application of gender equity, diversity, inclusion in organizations;
  • ways in which diversity and inclusion advance performance across sectors;
  • organizational assessment and evaluation; and
  • understanding of the Canadian sport context.

We are currently piloting the GESA with six National and Multi-Sport Organizations across Canada to ensure it is highly relevant and valuable to the sport sector. We are fortunate to have the support of Alpine Canada, Athletics Canada, Baseball Canada, Canada Snowboard, Rowing Canada and Sport for Life in this pilot phase.

The assessment will be available to other organizations later in 2020.
