Upcoming Learning Opportunities:
- Our Gender Equity LENS e-learning module is always available to help you and your organization access the information and tools you need to act on your commitment to inclusion and make policy and program decisions that better serve women and girls in sport. Access the module now.
- In the Keeping Girls in Sport e-learning module, coaches and activity leaders will build their understanding of how to: address common motivators and barriers for girls in sport; navigate the ways girls and boys experience sport environments differently throughout their development stages; foster positive sport environments for girls; and keep girls engaged in sport. Access the module now.
- Our 2021 Women in Sport Leadership Snapshot identified that despite the barriers COVID-19 placed on women in the workforce, sport leadership roles held by women either held steady versus the previous year or moved slightly up. Gender Equity Initiatives From Our Friends:
- Program Manager for BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS), Nadine Barbisan, is leading a monthly drop-in Women’s Only Wheelchair (WOW!) program in lower mainland British Columbia this winter. This program focuses on introducing women and girls (aged 15+ years) to the sport of wheelchair basketball in a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. The WOW! Program features team building, skills development, scrimmages, and an opportunity to try something new. The program is offering opportunities for women to participate on January 24th, and each month leading up to a celebration of women and wheelchair basketball on the weekend of April 8-10, 2022. This event is open to all levels of experience. Details in link above.
