Canadian Women & Sport is pleased to partner with Nike Canada for a second year to deliver gender equity education and support to sport and recreation organizations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As a result of the partnership, ten sport and recreation organizations have been selected to join the 2022 GTA Same Game Challenge.

The GTA Same Game Challenge helps sport and physical activity organizations build their capacity to create equitable and inclusive opportunities, leading to greater engagement of women and girls in their programming. Thanks to funding support from Nike Canada as part of the company’s Made to Play global commitment to get kids moving, organizations will advance gender equity and improve opportunities for women and girls as participants and leaders.

“Going through the Same Game Challenge opened up dialogue between our board members and coaches that wouldn’t have otherwise been discussed. This program helped us understand what changes we needed to make to have more girls and women participate. Having a program and hoping they will attend isn’t enough. We have to understand why they participate and what the barriers are that hold them back.”
